Blue-Collar worker Shortage

Over the past decade, the shortage of blue-collar workers has become a major problem in the construction, production, transportation, and catering industries. The main reasons come from population aging and more and more young people choosing to join universities.

Make it stand out

Searching interest of “Hourly worker“ changed From 2004 till 2022

-from Google Trend

During 2021/06~2021/12, I was working at a manufacturer company which located in Chattanooga, TN

Under the influence of the epidemic, the company has 128 job vacancies (blue-collar positions) and has long-term recruitment difficulties.

In fact, in the past decade 80% of construction firms are having a hard time filling these jobs. This issue also extends to logistic and manufacturing industries.

I was assigned to conduct qualitative Research related to this topic and deliver key insights to help with the upcoming career fair.

After finished my internship, I went back to school and started this individual project “Blue-collar recruiting process reframing“

In 3 months, I refined the quantitative research and delivered the potential solution -Cible
